Ramp Overview

We offer spring loaded trailer ramps from two different manufacturers: Platinum Coach and Lakota Trailers. These are constructed with aluminum tube frames and white pre painted aluminum skin and come with a non-slip rubber. Both brands of ramps also include round rubber bump stops to protect your ramp from rubbing against the ground.   A majority of the time, these two brands of ramps will universally fit other trailer manufacturers.  In unique cases, we can order your exact brand of trailer’s ramp or we can even fabricate ramps in our shop. Due to the variety of trailers and wide variety of ramps, many times we’ll have to special order your ramp.  In cases like these, it could take 4-8 weeks.  Hardware kits that include latches, ramps, and springs come with each ramp.

Installation of Ramps

In most cases, our service center budgets 4 hours to install a ramp.  This includes removing the rubber dock bumper or existing ramp, prepping area for installation, welding or bolting of ramp to trailer, and then installing latches.  If you do decide to install the ramp yourself, please note that an aluminum welder will be required.

Custom Built Ramps

In certain circumstances, for unique sizes or types of ramps or brands of trailers, it may make the most sense to build your ramp in house.  Our service center team uses the same material as Lakota and Platinum but we have more flexibility on unique sizes or uses.  Please call our Parts Team to discuss these options.

Color of Ramps

All ramps that we stock have white skin. We do have several options if you need a color other than white. Platinum and Lakota both have their base skin colors of trailers so we can usually get close to most colors with their choices.  Another option that we often use is having a graphics company wrap the color of your choice with vinyl.  We can have our company handle this or you may have a local graphics company that can handle this job for you.
