Coolhorse would like to congratulate the West Texas A&M University Equestrian Team on their success at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association National Championship. This is an outstanding accomplishment for the team along with the individuals that showed. Go BUFFS!
The WTAMU Equestrian Team won the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association Western National Championship held in Harrisburg, PA on May 2-5. For the National Show, the team rider's performance included Addie Davis gaining a third place in Team Reining, Julia Roberts winning Reserve National Champion in Team Open Horsemanship, Kayla Wells riding to National Champion in Team Advanced Horsemanship, Jessica Read winning 6th in Team Novice Horsemanship, Katie Callaghan securing a 5th in Team Intermediate Horsemanship, and Rachel Foster earning a National Championship in Team Beginner Horsemanship.
In individual performances at Nationals, Sammi Gallager was 3rd in the AQHA High Point Western Rider Cup, Julia Roberts was National Champion in Western Individual Open Horsemanship, and Kayla Wells earned a 3rd place in Western Individual Novice Horsemanship.
The team qualified for the National Champion show from a total of 393 school teams and 9441 riders. The top ten team placings were:

3. (tie) Ohio State University, University of Findlay
4. (tie) University of Nebraska, Cal Poly State
5. Middle Tennessee State University
6. Oswego State University
7. University of Kentucky
