Winterizing your RV or LQ Trailer

stacey |

Winter is coming, and it brings freezing temperatures and destructive ice along with it. Is your home away from home prepared? Winterizing your RV or LQ trailer is one of the most important things you can do this season. Protect expensive water heaters, tanks. Even floors and furnishings can be saved.

Water System Antifreeze Pump Converter Kit

We know that an ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure. A few simple parts can pay for themselves in the first season of use. Preventing damage to parts, water leaks, and long term issues saves money and time. Installing an RV Pump Converter Kit will allow you to quickly remove water from your lines and put non-toxic RV Anti-Freeze in. With just a couple of wrenches and some elbow grease you can set yourself up for easy winterizing while leaving the original system virtually unchanged.

Using an RV Water Heater bypass kit will compliment the RV Pump Converter Kit. It saves a minimum of 6 gallons of RV Anti-Freeze each time you winterize. Additionally, it will pay for itself in it's very first use! These are available for both 6 gallon and 10 gallon hot water heaters.

When to Winterize

If you are unsure what your deadline for this project needs to be, find your average first frost date using this handy zip code based frost date calculator from The Old Farmer's Almanac. For our local Amarillo friends and customers, that varies from October 16th to October 20th.
