IFYR Team Coolhorse 2013!!!

Blessed.... this word symbolizes how I have felt this week. Over the last 10 days I have got to experience some great things.
One of those being 2 1/2 inches of rain over the last 3 days! Thank You LORD!!
The second thing is, I have been blessed to be apart of Team Coolhorse for the 2013 IFYR in Shawnee Oklahoma. The IFYR ran from July 7-12. Let me tell ya - Shawnee, OK is not quite paradise, but to these 1,000 + high school rodeo kids, it is the daddy of em' all! Coolhorse was approached by two high school rodeo athletes in February or so to put a team together. We were all on board, whatever we had to do, we did it! As the month of March approached we had a stacked team - and let me tell ya, we are very fortunate to have had all of those amazing young adults representing us!
Sunday July 8th, Shawnee Oklahoma, 103 degrees and about 110 % humidity, I called our one and only team meeting! They are like kids meeting the ice cream man on the street.... 23 (high school) men and women crawling around me, asking what I needed help with! We get into the stands, it is still 103 degrees and maybe 115% humidity now... Matt and I give our spill on what we are there to do, how thankful we are, and then I begin to pass their Cinch shirts and BEX Sunglasses goodies... Talk about Christmas, all of these kids lite up from head to toe. With it being 103 degrees outside, I said "ok guys - I just need 5 more minutes of your time, and in this 5 minutes we are going to take some pictures, but the bad thing about this is.... the pictures are going to need to be taken in your BLACK (103 degrees, 115% humidity) Cinch shirts with silver stitch"..... Before I could look up all 23 of our team members had those heavy, starched shirts on, with smiles on their faces!!
After that 5 minutes of them sweating - I smiled and said "that's a wrap!!!"
I'll cut to the chase here... Although we didn't bring home the gold from Shawnee, I believe we had the gold before those 5 blistering days and 2 rounds started, because, the members, are the winners no matter what the points said! We were close, ending up in 3rd overall. Matt, Missy, myself and Coolhorse could not have asked for a better group of young men and women to represent the business! They wore those black, starched Cinch shirts, and sweet looking BEX Sunglasses with pride and dignity all week! And that is all we asked for!
As for Team Coolhorse --- we will be back at Shawnee next year! I am very BLESSED to have been apart of such an amazing group of talented, respectful young adults! I cannot wait to see all of these kids shine in the future!
Thanks to Matt & Missy Harris for all of the support!!
Be Blessed!
Kayli :)
