OUR AREA

A community tends to influence the individuals that live within it-especially one with the heritage, tradition, and strong personalities that are found in our geographic region. For some readers, this is quick overview of a few cool places to visit and events that happen around us, for others, it will give you a glimpse of who we are and "why we are".

We are located in Amarillo, Texas in the Texas panhandle and our "area" has an approximate population of 200,000. Settled in 1887, Amarillo's name originates from the Spanish language meaning "yellow", because of the color found in a nearby creek's soil.

Our part of the world is the heart of horse and cattle country, surrounded by legendary ranches, cowboys, cattlemen, and oilmen. The XIT, the JA, 6666'S, Quien Sabe, and the LX to name a few. We mention this only because of the influence, expectations, and integrity that shadows us from the roads these families have paved in and around Amarillo.

Palo Duro Canyon located south of Amarillo

No written rules but you do what you say you'll do and you do what's right.

Our town is also home of the American Quarter Horse Association and Museum, the famous Palo Duro Canyon, the Big Texan Steak House, Cadillac Ranch, World Ranch Rodeo finals, and some of the best Quarter horses, cattle, steaks, BBQ, and farm and ranch land in the country.
