Consignment Trailers

Q. Do you take consignment trailers?

A. We hate to ride this fence like this but the answer is YES, NO, and MAYBE. During certain times of the year, our lot will be so full and our shop and detail department so backed up, we are just not physically able to take any more trailers. It would just literally sit in the back of our lot for weeks, if not months, before we could inspect it, detail it, and prepare it to be on our lot and web site. When we are this full, we have to kindly pass on any consignment trailers-we just would not do you a good job in selling your trailer.

When openings do become available, we charge on a sliding scale depending on the price of your trailer. These vary from 8%-15% commission of the sales price, with a $750 minimum, plus any expenses we could incur during the preparation and sale of your trailer. Without exception, our shop inspects all consignment trailers as if we had traded for it. This will include, but is not limited to packing bearings, checking brakes, electrical inspection, and washing/detailing. Any problem we find must be fixed prior to sell and the owner will be responsible for these charges. On trailers without any major repairs, expenses normally range from $350 for trailers without living quarters to $450 for trailers with living quarters.  This can always be significantly higher if any type of repairs are needed. We do require you to keep insurance on your trailer while it's for sale on our lot. We also require all tanks to be completely drained (including black and gray holding tanks and fresh water reservoirs), personal items removed, and at least one complete set of keys.

Due to liability reasons, there are a few types of trailers we can not take on consignment at any time. Some of which are:

  • Living quarters that are not RVIA Certified, TR Arnold or Pacific West Associates approved
  • Un-registered trailers. All trailers must be registered or show proof of ownership by seller. Please see title requirements for further explanation of non-titled trailers
