"The concept of Dutton Bits was introduced in 1976 when I made my first horse bit. I had no idea that it would turn into the business it has become today. With God’s blessings and hard work, anything is possible. God gives everyone a talent and skills. He has blessed me as a horseman and a bridle bit maker. Over the years, I’ve faced various horsemanship situations inspiring me to make many different styles of horse bridle bits.

I have a strong passion for making better horsemen who then make better horses. I believe this is accomplished through communication. Communication is a two way conversation between you and your horse. It includes actively listening as well as making requests. The bridle bit is one of the main tools used in communicating with your horse. From colts to older horses, they all have something they can teach us about the bits we use. Every day I ride with the bits I’ve made and am constantly striving for ways they can be improved"
