Every horse owner has heard the stories about hay infected with blister beetles, but how much do you actually know?  I have found common gray blister beetles in my pasture, and I was relieved to find out that OSU has never known that species to cause a fatality.  In fact, all fatalities they have monitored have come from one particular species, the red striped blister beetle.  Here is a link to that article, take some time to read it and learn or review the facts on blister beetles.
