Some great new headstalls from Weaver Leather have come in recently, and I wanted to take a second to point them out. They are made with Weaver's harness leather, and all have a super feel. Lots of body - but not stiff. This leather has such a wonderful mellow feel, especially considering it's thickness. I have some Weaver pieces made with this leather and I can testify that it just gets better and better with age and use. From left to right, we have the Classic Collection Slide Ear, Stacy Westfall Browband with easy change buckle bit ends, Stockman Slide Ear, Stockman Slide Ear with Dots, and the Stacy Westfall one ear with buckle bit ends.

I have always been a fan of Select supplements.I have fed several of their formulas, and been happy with all of them.They just make supplements, nothing else, so they have to make them well.This particular formula I fed for years to my older gelding and he did very well on it.I don't hesitate to recommend it at all.
So maybe there's no support group for people like me yet, but I love bits. I will buy a bit for some of the oddest reasons. "I don't have one exactly like that" or "Hmm, I wonder how this works" or even "wow, that's much prettier than the argentine that I already have". Pair that up with the fact that I like to ride young and green colts, and you'll see that I have to change bits out. A lot. Colts move through bitting process, or I'll decide to experiment on a broke horse, or sometimes just upgrade one.
