"Best of" selections have been in the paper, on the air, and on the web lately, so I thought I'ld have some fun with a few "best of" lists of my own.  The subjects:  Coolhorse gear.  The Judges: Our super-savvy customers!  Want to see what our best selling headstalls are?  I have four categories.  Under $20, Browband, Enhanced, and Working Gear.

Best Headstall Under $20 - Hands down, no contest.  The Clarendon 5/8" Slide Ear Headstall walked away with this one.  Single ply harness leather, 5/8" wide, latigo ties at the bit ends, and a buckle for adjustment on each cheek help this headstall top the pack.  The double buckles and slide ear allow you to get a great fit on any horse, and the price keeps it in any budget. Best Headstall, Browband Category - Cowperson Tack used 5/8" harness leather, heavy oiled, to produce this heavyweight contender.  The Cowboy Browband Headstall is made with brass buckles and latigo leather ties. (on right)

 Best Headstall, Enhanced Category -  Four Point Concho Slide Ear Headstall by Cowboy Decor.  A beautiful dark oil basketstamp headstall creates the stage for these nickel silver conchos to really stand out. The Four Point conchos are a great pattern that will appeal to any cowboy or cowgirl no matter what their tastes. (on left)

Best Headstall, Working Gear Category - For the third year in a row, Coolhorse customer's top pick is this slit ear headstall.  Made for us by San Saba Equine, the extra heavy leather used in the construction of this piece is strong, supple, and enduring.  It was definitely no surprise that it's the #1 best selling headstall in our Amarillo store, where our Panhandle cowboys can come in and pick the tack up, feel it, bend it, test it, to make their selections.
