Getting a great fit from your spurs and spurs straps just got a little easier. Coolhorse has been measuring, adjusting, and measuring some more to save you from having to guess at what kind of fit you'll get.
Our spurs now feature measurements for the band width, shank length, rowel diameter, and even the heel width they are pre-set to fit. You can spread or compress the band to fit other sizes, but this will give you a starting point. Spur straps have been measured to both the largest and smallest holes. Place your spur on your boot and measure from spur button to spur button to see exactly what size you will need. Shop for Spurs or Spur Straps here. |

Fly sheets are sized just like winter blankets and stable sheets. If you already know what size your horse wears in those, that's the size you'll need in a fly sheet. If not, check out our blanket and sheet fitting guidelines to learn how to measure your horse, or for a quick reference guide. Most fly sheets are adjustable, so you have a little bit of forgiveness, but it is always best to measure your horse with a helper and a tape to get a good fit. An improperly stored pigging string can put a kink in your whole run. Be sure that your strings are stored and shipped properly to avoid problems. If you order your strings from Coolhorse, breathe easy knowing that your strings are stored straight and not coiled, kinked, or twisted. Ricky Lyles has advised us of the best way to ship your strings. They will never be shipped in a box that is not at least 10" x 10". A rectangular box can cause areas of more and less curve. A square box allows the string to rest at the same curvature through it's entire length. A rope can or rope bag with a round shape makes the best storage for your strings for the same reason. For long term storage, a section of PVC pipe makes a good tool to protect them and keep them flat. |

New, and easier to shop, quick change rein and headstall options.
Hi, My name is Stacey, and I am a bit-a-holic. So maybe there's no support group for people like me yet, but I love bits. I will buy a bit for some of the oddest reasons. "I don't have one exactly like that" or "Hmm, I wonder how this works" or even "wow, that's much prettier than the argentine that I already have". Pair that up with the fact that I like to ride young and green colts, and you'll see that I have to change bits out. A lot. Colts move through bitting process, or I'll decide to experiment on a broke horse, or sometimes just upgrade one. |
