I just wanted to share with you all the announcement that JDRF recently made. If you go to the JDRF website and click on artificial pancreas project, they replay the announcement.  They are predicting that the first commercially available artificial pancreas will be available in 4-5 years!!
I just wanted to let you all know that, YOU have helped make this happen!! JDRF is an organization that was founded by parents of children with diabetes. The fundraising that we have been doing for the walk the past two years, the team roping that we put on last year and (plan to do again sometime this year) and all the volunteering that you all have done have gone directly...100% towards helping fund a cure and towards technology like this. If the artificial pancreas comes to be, that means no more finger pokes 8 times a day and no more shots, and a bit of a load off our backs!  It is a huge step towards a more normal life...until we can find a cure!  And we won't stop, they won't stop until that happens!!

On July 11th and 12th 2009, we held our 1st Annual “Rope for the Cure” benefiting the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). With your help, we raised $9600.20. What an awesome thing we all accomplished. We are truly amazed at the outpouring of support, donations of time and money, and contributions to the silent auction and concessions.
