Caring for your leather splints, skids and more! Cleaning: Like all leather tack items, boots should be cleaned and checked after each use to increase longevity and avoid any accidents caused by natural wear. The leather exterior and inner foam liner should be wiped clean with a cloth to remove all dirt and sweat. A soft brush can also be used to whisk away debris if necessary. Oiling: Exposure to the elements can cause leather products to break down over time. To increase the durability and the lifespan of the boots, oil at least every 6 months to replace the natural oil that is lost during the tanning process.
