Saddles

We know that nice, hand made saddles are not cheap. We also know that sometimes it's just not feasible to let go of the cash required to buy an upper-end saddle. for these reasons, Coolhorse has created a saddle lay-a-way program.

Buying a saddle with the Lay-A-Way program offers several different benefits.  It's less expensve than credit cards with no interest charges.  You can secure that hard to find saddle without paying in full up front.  You can get a nicer saddle that would fit into your immediate budget.  And, you can even use a trade in saddle for partial payment.

3DX Bell Boots by Classic Equine PDF Print

Introducing the 3DX Bell Boots by Classic Equine.

Although they were originally designed for English and Endurance riders, these bell boots are taking over the barrel racing world! They have a side closure vs a front, which gives the front of the bell boot a flat surface. This will protect the hoof from jumps and provides extra protection for any discipline where horses are required to cross their feet in the front. The collared cuff provides more comfort for your horse and with the no-turn knob it helps hold the bell boots in place. The material is water repellent and stain resistant but are easy to clean. The kevlar back gives the boot more protection (these are bulletproof!) and durability. The 3DX Bell Boots are designed to use with polo wraps or splint boots, You do not want to use them with sport boots such as the Legacy's.

They are available in size Small, Medium, Large, and come in Chocolate, White, Black, and Fuchsia.

Be sure to check out the matching Polo Wraps!!

What Cactus Rope should a beginner use? PDF Print
Ropes, Roping, Ropers

Welcome to the wonderful world of roping. There are several options for you. Basically, it comes down to personal preference. Cactus Ropes offers 3-strand and 4-strand ropes. Some of our ropes are made of a nylon-poly blend, while others are 100% nylon.

We have the Mini Mag which is a good 3-strand nylon-poly rope. It has a small diameter, it's good to learn with, and has some world champion credentials attached to it. A couple of the past NFR champs prefer this rope. The industry is leaning towards a 4-strand rope in popularity and we offer a few. If a smaller rope feels better to you, I would suggest the Whistler. This is a 4-strand with a small diameter; it's nylon-poly blend. If you prefer a rope with a little more weight and body, then try our number one selling rope, the Xplosion. The Xplosion is part of Trevor Brazile's Relentless line of ropes. Even though it is small in diameter, it is packed with body and tip weight.

Good Fast Back Beginner Rope- Ask Al PDF Print

Q.  I just started heading and am wondering of the entire line of ropes, which, including the lay, would be best for a beginner to start off using.

A.  Al Benson of Fast Back Ropes suggests an XS Natural (if you prefer a four-strand) or a Grabber (if you prefer a three-strand). Both of these ropes have enough weight so you can easily feel the tip. As you progress and get more comfortable handling your rope you will probably end up with a lighter rope. Using a four-strand or three-strand rope is a personal preference that you will eventually figure out. Good luck!!

Ty Tuff Goat Tying Dummy PDF Print

tytuffIt's a fast paced rodeo event that can be seen in junior, high school, and college rodeos. The goal is to race the end of the rodeo arena to where the goat is tied, dismount your horse, and tie three of its legs together with a nylon string or Cotton string. Timing ends when the contestant stands up and throws their hands up in the air. Sounds fun right? Don't let the excitement fool you 'cause you can earn penalties and that is why it is important to practice.
