Winter is fast approaching. Today it's speed appears to be 28 straight line or gusting 42. Yuck. It's a good day to be in the barn, and there are two in-the-barn projects that I like to do before it gets too cold. Read more to learn about getting your winter blankets and leather tack ready for winter's harsh conditions. |

This was my first order with Coolhorse and I must say I'm impressed! If every business went as far as to include a blowpop and a handwritten note they would find greater success! Thank you Coolhorse! -Social Butterfly Media Coaching |

Here are step by step directions on how to put on your Rattler Magic Loop ... First you must take the rope you intend on using for break away purposes and cut off either the honda or the knot on the opposite end depending on your preference. Second you thread the rope through the new break away honda and tie a knot, preferably a crown knot, in the rope preventing the honda from coming off. Finally you may wrap the end of the rope used for the break away honda and wrap it with tape to prevent the honda from spinning. This puts pressure between the rope and the honda. Now you're done! Happy trails, Abby B. |

Horses have a 'sweet spot' where the cinch naturally wants to lay. If you aren't sure how to find this sweet spot, look at your horse without a saddle on. Find the narrowest part of your horse's rib cage. Typically that will be about 4" behind his elbow, give or take a couple inches. No matter where you position your saddle, during your ride the cinch will try it's darnedest to migrate to that sweet spot. Do your horse a favor by starting your ride out at the sweet spot to avoid shifting. This will help insure that you have the correct cinch length and that your cinch is just tight enough without being too tight. |

Latigo is an interesting word. It has several distinct meanings. It can be a comic strip from the early 80's or even a sporty automobile. However, if you are talking tack, two meanings are common and easily confused. Learn more about both meanings below. |

Are you looking for a way to make those commercial breaks pass a little faster? Or do you need something to give you a quick, stress relieving study break? This little steer measures 19 inches from poll to heel, and stands 9 inches wide. He's 7 inches tall and his horn spread is 10 inches. They are great for roping indoors on those rainy days when the arena is too wet or on snow days when it's too cold. All dummies are hand painted.
